About:

Dr. Sun received his medical degree and a concurrent master’s in Bioethics from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. He completed pediatrics residency at the University of Washington and subspecialty fellowship in pediatric pulmonology (respirology) at Boston Children’s Hospital. His research training, spanning clinical investigation, environmental epidemiology, and exposure science, has been supported by the National Institutes of Health, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, including being a CFF Scholar in the U.S. Pediatric Scientist Development Program. Bob’s research program studies how the air we breathe affects children’s lung health and disease, with a focus on indoor air pollution and emerging hazards including wildfire smoke.
