About:
Agnes is an alumna of the University of British Columbia where she pursued a double major in Food and Nutritional Sciences and also a Diploma in Accounting. She is a dynamic professional with a unique blend of expertise in finance, research lab management, in combination with expertise in molecular techniques and histology gained during her tenure in a plant genetics lab prior to joining the department.
As the Grant Facilitator for the Centre for Lung Health (CLH), Agnes will work with Principal Investigators and researchers on research proposal development, planning, budgeting, and implementation. Her background in finance coupled with her experience in research lab management positions is a valuable resource for facilitating funding requests, managing accounts and navigating the complexities of grant applications.
In her concurrent role as the Research Manager of the Air Pollution Exposure Lab (APEL), Agnes oversees multiple clinical research studies under the guidance of Dr. Chris Carlsten. Her responsibilities span grant management, financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day administration. These studies focus on the intricate relationships between occupational air pollutants and various lung diseases in hopes to address critical issues in public health.
